Rabbi Elia and Chaya Eilfort (nee Weiss), together with their son, Dovey moved to Encinitas, California, September 2016.
The Eilforts moved to Encinitas to start a new Jewish community. Chaya and Elia both grew up in outreach Chabad homes, (Chaya in Miami Lakes, FL and Elia in Carlsbad, CA) and have developed a passion and excitement for reaching and teaching Jews about their heritage, Torah, and the Rebbe’s mivtzoyim.
Encinitas has long been served by the neighboring Chabad center in Carlsbad, but due to the increasing Jewish population, the Eilforts will be filling a need for classes, programs, and services especially geared to the area.
The young couple have said that they look forward to moving to the neighborhood and hope that they can change a city with a largely unaffiliated Jewish population to a thriving and lively, proud Jewish community.
